Robert K. Pedersen Global Outreach Endowment
The Robert K. Pedersen Global Outreach Endowment was established in 2005 through a gift from Don and Kathy Pedersen’s Family Foundation to create an endowment in memory of Don’s father, who was an international businessman. This program provides financial support to projects involving PAs and PA students in humanitarian activities designed to improve the quality of life in underserved areas of developing countries and the United States. The grants are intended to promote sustainable development in the areas of healthcare and health education for populations and communities in need.
IMPACT Grants
IMPACT Grants support patient-centered, community-based health projects led by PAs and PA students within the United States that demonstrate an impact on patient health outcomes.
Josanne Kissel Pagel PAs in Administration Award
The Josanne Kissel Pagel PAs in Administration Award aims to support PAs serving in their first five years of a clinically administrative position dedicated to enhancing their skills and promoting opportunities for other PAs in pursuing roles in clinical administration. The award is intended to help fund the recipient’s attendance at the AAPA Executive Leadership Conference (ELC) in the subsequent year to facilitate networking with other future executive administrators.
NIDA Mentored Outreach Award
The NIDA Mentored Outreach Award funds outreach awards to support the development of expertise in substance use disorders (SUD), especially opioid use disorders (OUD), through completion of a mentor-supervised project focused on adoption and/or dissemination of SUD treatment research and the publication of the results.
W. H. Marquardt Community Health Access Fellowship
The William H. Marquardt Community Health Access Fellowship aims to benefit PAs serving in mentoring and/or precepting roles who are dedicated to promoting accessible primary and preventive healthcare amongst underserved populations.
All of Us Student Research Scholars
AAPA and the PA Foundation (PAF) are offering a Student Research Scholars program supported by the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) All of Us Research Program. Awardees will produce research in collaboration with AAPA/PAF and use data from the All of Us Research Program and Researcher Workbench.
